How to Combine Pylai Pen Microneedling With Your Existing Skincare Routine
Weekly schedule showing how to fit Pylai Pen sessions around retinol, acids, and everyday skincare without irritation.
Make Your Skincare and Microneedling Play Nicely
You do not need to abandon your routine to microneedle. Just park the spicy products at the right times. Here is a simple weekly flow you can copy.
Sample Week
- Day 1 (Needling Night): Cleanse, sanitize, fresh cartridge, Pylai Pen. Post: HA or panthenol serum only. No makeup or gym.
- Day 2: Gentle cleanser + hydrating serum + light moisturizer. No actives.
- Day 3: Repeat Day 2. If calm, add a mild antioxidant in the morning.
- Day 4–5: Reintroduce niacinamide or azelaic acid if you use them. Skip retinol/acids still.
- Day 6–7: Bring back retinol or AHA/BHA at your usual strength if skin feels normal.
Products to Park Around Sessions
- Strong vitamin C powders, peels, and scrubs: stop 2 days before and 3–5 days after.
- Retinoids: pause 2 days before and restart around Day 6–7 post-session.
- Fragrance-heavy creams: skip the whole week—keep it boring and calming.
Scheduling Tips
- Needling every 3–4 weeks is plenty for texture and pores.
- Do not layer multiple “events” (peel, laser, beach trip) in the same week.
- If you wake up red on Day 3, extend the no-actives window and hydrate more.
Morning Basics Never Change
- Gentle cleanse (or just rinse), hydrating serum, moisturizer, SPF 50.
- Reapply sunscreen outdoors; microchannels love extra UV protection.
The routine is simple: spike one night with the pen, keep the next few boring, then ease your favorite actives back in. Your skin will stay calm while collagen gets to work.
